IMPORTANT- Parent Survey
District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) is the collective voice of the parents of the Langley School District (SD#35).
In the interest of serving your needs to the best of our abilities, we encourage all parents to complete this short survey to assist us in the future planning of how to serve all PACs and parents better. We encourage you to email the following link to all your parents and encourage them to participate. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdPecGv5WeU8SPd1B_L2mSVdtIbpDTZU1xnSWAZ9bXdnnCUqw/viewform?usp=sf_link
This survey contains 24 questions and should take you approximately 5 minutes to complete. We appreciate your participation, and thank you for your time. If you have any ideas or questions about or arising from this survey, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Christine Brightman, Secretary
Langley District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC)
Some Notes from Ms Jaggi:
If you did not register by the district date of March 31st, you would now be put on a waiting list for Kindergarten 2017-2018. If you register now, we would let you know by the end of June if we have room for you at Langley Meadows. Please register as soon as possible as spots will now be filled on a first come basis depending on our spaces available.
If you are moving and will not be with LMCS in September, please contact Ms Young in the office to let us know. This information allows us to move forward with accurate student numbers as we create classes this Spring for the next school year.
A reminder that the staff parking lot is for staff. There has been an influx of parents parking there in the morning and at the end of the day. Recently people have also been parking in the lot behind staff members cars and then getting out to pick up their children. Many of our support staff are finished work at the dismissal bell and are being trapped in the lot and not able to leave. Please remember that this lot is for staff only. We appreciate your consideration.
Netflix series called “13 Reasons Why”
As some of you may be aware, there is a new Netflix series called “13 Reasons Why” that has been getting a lot of attention in the news and social media. While it is rated 16+ years through Common Sense Media (click here for more information: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/tv-reviews/13-reasons-why ), we are aware that some of our younger students are watching the show.
While a very well done series, it does raise a lot of difficult subjects such as bullying, suicide, rape and drunk driving. These are important topics for our youth and it is essential that students have the opportunity to talk about some of these issues with a supportive adult if they are indeed watching the series.
If your son or daughter is watching the series or is planning to watch the series, we encourage you to watch along with them. Better yet, watch it first and decide if it is suitable for your child. We have attached a couple resources that some parents may find useful in discussing the series with their children.
