We have several ways to interact and receive PAC information

Located on the wall outside the office, this board is maintained by the PAC. Please check it out for information about our PAC team, Fun Lunch, Fundraising, other school events and ways to get involved!!!

This site is maintained by  PAC volunteers for the purpose of sharing information that is related to PAC activities and other things we feel might be of interest to our Parent Community. It is where the E-News weekly posts are generated from (usually posted Saturday morning). The PAC site also has a calendar that includes school dates, but also PAC dates such as fundraisers, meetings and Fun Lunch etc. and events hosted by the Langley Meadows Community Association.

Fun Lunch & more program

This is the easiest way to manage fun lunch and fundraising orders. You can register all children in your family under 1 family account. Can’t remember if you placed an order for your child? Simply login to check active orders. Payments for fun lunch and/or fundraising can be done using paypal from your bank account or credit card. Prefer not to handle money online? Not a problem, simply send in cash or cheque with your student in a marked envelope!

Please remember you must register a family account at the beginning of each school year

SPORTS DAY SUCCESS!!!

Thank you so much to our AMAZING Langley Meadows staff for another fantastic sports day, the kids had such a wonderful time. The weather even cooperated for us turning sunny and warm by the end of the day! The day was full of laughs and a couple of surprise guests. Thank you so much to Ms Jaggi for bringing your beautiful boys down to join in the fun and very special thanks to Brian & Corine Hamilton for bringing THIS Special visitor!

**PAC ELECTIONS 03 JUN**

PAC Election

Dear Current and Future Langley Meadows Community School Parent(s) / Guardian(s):

Election of the Langley Meadows Community School PAC Executive for the 2016/2017 school year will be held at the LMCS PAC General Meeting and AGM scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Library at Langley Meadows School at 9:00am.

All voting must be done in person; no proxy votes will be accepted. Nominations will be accepted up until June 3, 2016 at 9:05am. for the following Executive Positions:

President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
District PAC Representative (DPAC)
Member-at-large(up to 3 people)

Each Executive position will be voted on separately by the way of ballots. Voting will commence directly after the opening of the PAC/AGM meeting.

A voting member is any parent/guardian whose child will be enrolled in the Langley Meadows Community School in the 2016/2017 school year. Further information about the election process can be found in the constitution in the Election of Executive Officers section. There are other opportunities to get involved at the Langley Meadows Community School by joining sub-committees. These committees will be appointed by the Executive PAC and will report directly to the Executive. Examples of possible committees are hot lunch, volunteers, and fundraising.

A quick notice to parents that a number of parking complaints have come forward from the community and our RCMP liaison has been on site to assist. A quick reminder to parents to ensure that posted parking sign requirements are met, ensure crosswalks are being used and please keep driveways and staff parking accessible.

Please follow the guidelines and help out as our parking lot can be very busy. Adhering to the rules keeps everyone safe! Thank you for your help!

Due to overcrowding at Yorkson Creek:

In order to ascertain that those planning on attending YCMS in September 2016 live in the catchment, the District is requiring that ALL families with a child entering grade 6 verify their address and proof of student age (birth certificate, certificate of citizenship, court order or passport, for example) at YCMS on any of the following dates:

Wednesday, May 11th from 3:30pm – 7:30pm

Thursday, May 12th from 3:30pm – 7:30pm

Saturday, May 14th from 8:00am – 12:00pm

Tuesday, May 17th from 3:30pm – 7:30pm

Wednesday, May 18th from 3:30pm – 7:30pm

It is imperative that all families undertake this request. Confirming your residency, by 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 ensures that your child is registered at the school for September 2016.

***Drop in fees for morning gym have purchased a new gymnastics mat for the school***

THE LMCA and Langley Meadows PE Teachers work together to offer open gym Mon-Thurs mornings from 8:10-8:40.

Monday: Grade 4 & 5

Tuesday & Thursday: Grade 1-5

Wednesday: Grade 1-3

Drop-In Fee $1.00 and all proceeds go towards new gym equipment!

YOGA:

Yoga runs Monday evenings from 6:20-7:20pm in the multi-purpose room at Langley Meadows. All levels are welcome to attend, please bring your own mat and a water bottle.

Drop-In Fee of $7.00

RUNNING CLUB:

The Langley Meadows Running Group meets in the school parking lot every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm for an (approximately) hour run/walk. Both beginner and experienced runners are welcome. Please check out our facebook page (Langley Meadows Running Group) for daily/weekly schedule updates.

NIGHTS’ ALIVE:

This popular open gym program for students in grades 5-7 operates in conjunction with Youth Unlimited from our school gym every Friday evening from 6:00-8:00pm.

**Emergency Preparedness Week**

Fire, Earthquake and Code Red Drills are practiced thoughout the year at LMCS. During Preparedness Week, teachers have been encouraged to play a fun game that is designed to raise awareness about emergency preparedness and more specifically, test the student’s knowledge on emergency preparedness kits!

Langley Meadows PAC is organizing this fundraiser to raise funds to purchase special chairs and fidget devises to assist kids in calming themselves so they are better set to learn.
