Who is the PAC?
Often, the Langley Meadows Community School PAC (Parent Advisory Council) is seen as the PAC Executive and PAC Volunteers. The truth is that every parent/guardian with a child registered in the school is a full, voting member of the LMCS PAC.
PAC Executives are those parents who have chosen to hold an official position within the PAC. These executive positions are volunteer positions with no compensation provided by the school. PAC Volunteers help throughout the year in fundraising or other initiatives as requested by the Executives, or simply just attend the PAC meetings to find out what’s happening.
We encourage all of the Parents/Guardians to attend the PAC meetings; you will not be assigned any tasks without your willing to do so. It’s a brief meeting once a month where the atmosphere is light, we have some good laughs, get to know the Principal and enjoy free goodies and coffee.
The benefits to attending are that you will be kept informed of what’s happening in the school and give your children a sense that their parents care about their education. During PAC meetings we also take votes on decisions… PAC member’s votes are critical especially when it comes to allocating on how to spend the funds provided by the government and via our fundraising!
